Hostas in Pots
Hostas make great container plants, which you can place anywhere you have good filtered light. Plant them alone or with a combination of annuals and/or other perennials. Use containers of a suitable size, pot them in a humus rich growing mix, give them lots of water and periodic fertilizing and watch your container flourish! In the winter , you may want to transfer your perennials to plastic pots to save your crockery pots from winter damage. Store them in an unheated shed or garage.
Portable plants in containers are wonderful to fill in those empty spots in your garden after spring bulbs or perennials have finished blooming for the season. The beauty of pots is that they can be moved very easily. So, add some hostas in pots to a shady part of your deck, or around your front door, or anywhere else you may find for an arrangement as beautiful as the ones pictured here.
